Mixin Launches Gasless Experience, Removing Native Gas Barriers for Cross-Chain Trading and Transfers

Mixin has launched its Gasless experience, further simplifying cross-chain trading and transfer flows in Common Wallet. Users can now complete cross-chain swaps without preparing native gas tokens for different blockchains in advance, and when making transfers, they can choose which asset to use for network fee payments.

Removing Gas Friction From Multi-Chain Usage

In traditional Web3 wallets, users usually need to hold the native gas asset of each blockchain they use. Ethereum and ERC-20 assets require ETH, BNB Chain assets require BNB, and Solana assets require SOL. For multi-chain users, this increases operational overhead and often creates situations where users hold assets in their wallet but still cannot trade or transfer because they do not have enough gas.

Mixin’s Gasless experience is designed to remove that friction. By moving gas management out of the visible user flow, Mixin further simplifies cross-chain trading and transfers for everyday wallet usage.

Cross-Chain Trading Without Gas Preparation

With Gasless support in Common Wallet, users only need to select the asset they want to swap and the target asset they want to receive. The transaction can then be completed directly, without preparing native gas tokens for either the source chain or the destination chain in advance.

This turns what used to be a multi-step process of “prepare gas first, then execute a cross-chain trade” into an experience that feels much closer to a regular swap.

Flexible Fee Payment for Transfers

Mixin has also introduced more flexibility for transfer fee payments.

When users send assets to an external address, the wallet shows the corresponding network fee and allows them to choose a supported asset to pay it. Users no longer need to purchase or deposit the native gas token of a network solely to complete a transfer.

For multi-chain users, this reduces the need to maintain small balances of multiple gas tokens across different blockchains and makes asset management more straightforward.

Moving Gas Management Into the Background

Mixin’s Gasless experience does not remove blockchain network fees. Those fees still exist, but Mixin moves gas management into the background and integrates fee handling into the wallet experience itself.

As multi-chain ecosystems continue to expand, gas management has become one of the key factors affecting wallet usability. By enabling cross-chain trading without advance gas preparation and allowing flexible fee payment assets for transfers, Mixin lowers the barrier for everyday users to manage and use on-chain assets.

Transfer Fee Subsidies for Imported Wallets

Mixin also currently provides transfer fee subsidies for transfers between Imported Wallets.

Users who import Common Wallets through mnemonic phrases or private keys can receive monthly refunds for transfer fees when sending assets to other Imported Wallet addresses. This further reduces the practical cost of moving on-chain assets and extends Mixin’s effort to make wallet usage simpler and more accessible.

FAQ

What problem does the Gasless experience solve?
It reduces the need for users to prepare different native gas tokens in advance and helps avoid situations where users cannot trade or transfer simply because they lack gas.

How do cross-chain swaps work now?
Users only need to choose the asset they want to swap and the target asset they want to receive. The swap can then be completed directly without advance gas preparation.

What changed for transfers?
Users can choose a supported asset to pay the network fee when transferring to an external address, instead of having to hold the chain’s native gas token.

Does Mixin eliminate blockchain network fees?
No. Network fees still exist, but gas management is moved into the background and integrated into the wallet experience.
